The Primate Fiasco welcomes a new member.
Jeff Fennell will be joining The Primate Fiasco on sax. Combined with the current sax player, Steve Yarbro, there will now be two saxs to create mind melting harmonies and dizzy melodies. On lucky occasions, former trumpeter, Nick Borges will be able to attend and add a third element to the lead horns for a few tunes.
The change has inspired a total overhaul of old material. While under the hood learning the old favorites, why not rewrite them with todays experience and energy in mind? Jazz purists might mourn the loss of the trumpet and on some songs, so will the band. But the new sound brings different abilities which band and fans alike will enjoy.
The Fiasco season starts April 28th and the intention is to play the old favorites in a way that will have even the old diehard fans feeling as though it's a new song.
